new Delhi. 47 percent of working women in India are feeling more stressed or anxious because of the Kovid-19 epidemic. A new survey said this on Thursday. Microsoft-owned LinkedIn on Thursday claimed in the ‘Workforce Confidence Index’ survey that two out of five women are working beyond their working hours to take care of their children.
The survey has been conducted among 2,254 professionals.
On the other hand, 38 percent of the working men said that due to the epidemic, the pressure has increased on them.
The survey has revealed that one in three women (31 percent) are currently taking care of children full time. At the same time, only one in five i.e. 17 percent of the men are taking care of the children full time.
Neha Bagaria, CEO of the online portal ‘Job for Har’, said that while there has been an increase in men’s participation during the epidemic, women are still spending the most time caring for children.
The data suggests that working mothers may suffer the expense of being distracted by babysitting.
According to the survey, only one in five women, ie 20 percent, are dependent on family members or friends to look after their children. In the case of men, this figure is 32 percent.
About 46 percent of the women said that they needed to work long hours. At the same time, 42 percent of the women said that due to the children being at home, they could not concentrate on work.
Of the people who work as freelancers, 25 percent said they expected an increase in income. While 27 percent said that their personal savings are expected to increase, 31 percent said they expected their investment to increase over the next six months. (IANS)
