America’s leading automaker Ford has been running in silent mode in the Indian market for a long time. Recently, the jugalbandi between Ford and Mahindra has also ended, after which the news of the homecoming of this giant company also started coming in the media. But once again, Ford has put an end to all the discussions by launching the teaser of the automatic avatar of its famous hatchback car Figo. Yes, Ford is going to present the Figo in a completely new style in the Indian market on July 22.
Ford India has released a new teaser of this car on social networking site Twitter, in which a little glimpse of this car has been seen. Prima facie, there doesn’t seem to be any major change in this car. Its front grille also looks similar to the current model, although its alloy wheels do seem to have changed a bit. It will be offered with a new design.
It is expected that the Ford Figo Automatic will be launched with the company’s 6-speed torque converter gearbox. This gearbox is also given in the company’s compact SUV Ford EcoSport. However, no information has been received about whether this automatic torque converter will be used in both petrol and diesel variants.
In this car, the company can use the existing BS6 1.2 liter capacity Ti-VCT petrol engine. Apart from this, this car can also be launched in the market with 1.5 liter diesel engine. Its petrol engine generates power of 95 bhp and torque of 119 Nm. At the same time, the diesel engine gives 99 bhp power and 215 Nm torque. The current engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.
As far as the price is concerned, it can be up to Rs 50,000 more expensive than the current model. At present, the price of this car starts from Rs 5.82 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.37 lakh. It is possible that the company will include some additional features in this car along with the new gearbox, this will be revealed only after the arrival of this car in the market. Its current petrol model gives a mileage of 18.5 kmpl and diesel variant up to 23.5 kmpl.
