Hosts Bangladesh, playing their first international match after the ban, hosts all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (four wickets for eight runs) after the batsmen performed brilliantly after the first ODI match played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here on Wednesday. Defeated West Indies by six wickets. With this victory, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. This is Bangladesh’s first point in the World Cup Super League.

Host Bangladesh decided to bowl first after winning the toss and the team guests went on to make their debut in the match for the West Indies team. After this, the host team piled the visiting team for 122 runs in 32.2 overs. For the West Indies, K Meyers scored the highest number of 40, Rowman Powell scored 28 and captain Jason Mohammed scored 17 runs.

For Bangladesh, Shakib took the maximum four wickets for eight runs in 7.2 overs. Shakib took 150 wickets in ODIs at home. Apart from him, Hasan Mahmood, playing his debut match, took three wickets, Mustafizur Rahman took two and Mehdi Hasan took one wicket.

Chasing a target of 123 runs, Bangladesh achieved this by losing four wickets in 33.5 overs. Captain Tamim Iqbal scored 44 for the team, Shakib 19, Mushfiqur Rahim 19 not out, Litton Das 14 and Mahmudullah scored nine not out.

For the West Indies, Akil Hussain took three wickets and captain Jason Mohammed took one wicket. The second ODI between the two teams will be played on this ground on Friday.
