
England cricket team all-rounder Ben Stokes has left for the tour of India. Stokes has given information about this by uploading a picture of him from inside the flight on social media. The 4-match Test series between India and Australia will begin in Chennai from 5 February.
The England team is currently playing the second and last Test match of the series against the hosts in Sri Lanka. England had given comfort to many of their players against Sri Lanka who are now ready to play against India.
Both the initial Tests will be played in Chennai
The first two Test matches between India and England will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday announced a 16-man squad comprising 6 reserve players for the first two Tests.
Stokes, Butler and Archer return
Stokes, including wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and fast bowler Jofra Archer, have also returned to the England squad who were rested against Sri Lanka.
On the return of Stokes and Archer, England captain Joe Root has said that the arrival of these two players will strengthen their team against a quality team like India.
India will be invincible if Stokes is an all-rounder
Stokes last played in IPL 2020
Stokes last played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The IPL 2020 was held in the UAE from 19 September to 10 November last year. Stokes did not play in the first half of the IPL due to his father’s illness.
