Hyundai Creta has remained the best selling SUV in the country in the last 8 months. However, due to the long waiting period, customers are finding it difficult to buy it. There is a waiting period of 6 months on most variants of Creta and up to 10 months on some variants. The main reason for this is the shortage of semiconductor chips around the world and the slowdown in production due to Kovid-19. In such a situation, many customers are shifting to another SUV of the company instead of Hyundai Creta.
Hyundai dealers have come up with a smart solution to avoid cancellation of bookings due to long waiting period of Creta. According to a report by Autocar India, dealers are suggesting customers to upgrade to the Hyundai Alcazar, the 7 seater version of the Creta. The special thing is that the waiting period on Alcazar is much less than on Creta. Most variants of Alcazar have an average waiting period of around three months.

Similarly, the top-spec Creta 1.4-litre petrol-DCT SX(O) is priced at Rs 17.87 lakh, while the top-spec Alcazar 2.0-litre petrol-AT Signature (O) is priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.

engine and power
Hyundai Creta is available with three engine options. It will be powered by 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS/144Nm), 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm), and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140PS/242Nm). Whereas, the Hyundai Alcazar gets two engine options – a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel, same as the Creta, and a bigger 159hp, 2.0-litre petrol. By asking Creta buyers to upgrade to Alcazar, Hyundai dealers are not only ensuring faster deliveries but also helping in increasing the sales for the Alcazar.
