Noida . The cases of dengue, malaria, chikungunya are increasing continuously. Many times people are seeing even the slightest viral fever associating it with a dangerous disease like dengue. And sometimes despite having dengue-like symptoms, people keep trying to heal themselves by taking medicines at home. Dr. Amit Kumar has a special conversation with IANS on what are their symptoms and what precautions and understanding should be taken. District District Public Health Expert Dr. Amit Kumar has told that there is a need to be alert about dengue and not to be afraid. Not every fever is dengue. In case of dengue-like symptoms, immediately visit your nearest health center and consult a doctor.
Dr. Amit told- Health department is fully alert regarding dengue patients in the district. In the district, the department has made full arrangements in hospitals to fight dengue. The department does not want to take any laxity regarding dengue. He told if someone is having fever. There is pain in the knees. If there is a burning sensation in the eye, get it checked immediately, as fever can reduce platelets. Generally low number of platelets in the blood is considered to be the biggest symptom of dengue but, low platelets does not mean only that the patient has dengue. This can happen due to other diseases also. He said that there is a lot of confusion in the general public about platelets, as soon as platelets are reduced, people consider it dengue but in reality it is not so. Typhoid fever and many other diseases are such, in which platelets decrease. In such a situation, there is a need to get the fever done immediately and consult a doctor at the nearest health center and do not fall in the trap of any quackery doctor.
ELISA test necessary to confirm dengue
Dr. Amit told that ELISA test is necessary to confirm dengue. No patient should be declared as suffering from dengue without getting ELISA test done. In this regard, instructions have also been given to all government and private hospitals in the district.
Do not take any medicine on your own
Dr. Amit said that usually people become doctors themselves when they get fever and start taking medicine themselves. Keep in mind that do not take medicine on your own when you have a fever. Take the medicine only after medical consultation at the nearest health center. Sometimes the wrong medicine can have the opposite effect.
