The premium hatchback segment is known for its unique features and great performance coupled with better space. However, in the last few years, after the introduction of sub-compact SUV segment vehicles, their demand has definitely decreased a bit. But still the buyers of these vehicles in urban areas have not reduced. In the last July, Maruti Baleno has once again become the leader of its segment.
However, the interesting thing is that Hyundai’s i20 Elite, which is known to be the closest competitor to Maruti, has reached the third position in terms of sales. At the same time, Tata Altroz has become the second best selling car in the segment. Due to the advanced features and muscular design, people are very fond of this Tata car.
If we look at the sales figures, in the month of July, Maruti Suzuki has sold a total of 14,729 units of Baleno, which is 27% more than 11,575 units in the month of July last year. At the same time, Tata Motors has sold a total of 6980 units of Altroz during this period, which is 92% more than 3636 in July last year. Hyundai has sold only 6518 units of the i20 Elite, which is just 3 percent more than the same month last year.
