Recently, the country’s largest automaker Tata Motors launched its second electric car Tigor EV in the domestic market and the company’s first electric SUV Tata Nexon EV is already present in the market.
Tata Motors’ electric SUV Nexon EV is very much liked by the people. The company says that since its launch in January last year, more than 6,000 units of the car have been sold. The company claims that the demand for electric vehicles is at the top right now, with even the Nexon Electric giving competition to the diesel model.
In a statement to the media, Shailesh Chandra, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said that “the company is receiving more than 2,000 bookings per month for Nexon Electric.” He said, “When we launched it (in January 2020), we used to get around 300 bookings (per month). Now the demand for electric vehicles has increased in the country and people are showing trust in Tata Motors.”
How is the Tata Nexon EV Electric SUV:
Tata Nexon Electric is available in the market in a total of five variants. Its price ranges from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.85 lakh. Recently, while updating the Tata Nexon EV, today some special features have been added to it. It now gets a button-less and dial-less infotainment system. It is a seven-inch display that is equipped with Tata’s Connect Next operating system (OS).
Driving Range and Charging:
The company has also included some attractive features in this SUV along with a strong battery pack. These include automatic climate control, 7-inch infotainment system, auto highlights, electric sunroof, park assist, auto rain sensing wipers, electric tailgate, etc. In this, the company has given a 30.2 kWh capacity Lithium-Ion liquid cooled battery pack. The electric motor given in it generates strong power of 127bhp and torque of 245Nm.
The company claims that this electric SUV gives a driving range of up to 315 km in a single charge. This electric SUV gets charged up to 80% in just 1 hour with the fast charging system, apart from this it takes 8 to 9 hours for the car’s battery to be fully charged with a regular charger. It is the largest selling electric car in the country.
