
Hyundai is planning to launch 6 battery electric vehicles in India by 2028. The company will invest about Rs 4000 crore in research and development for this. Hyundai will introduce a number of vehicles based on its global platform ‘e-GMP’ along with its existing range over the next few years.
SS Kim, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India told PTI, “We will continue to redefine the mobility space. Today we are re-demonstrating our commitment to the Indian customers and by 2028 we will be able to introduce our BEVs in the Indian market.” Will expand the line-up to 6 vehicles.”

Hyundai’s e-GMP platform has the facility to build a massive battery of up to 77.4 kWh. It also offers 2WD and 4WD, better handling and the ability to achieve a top speed of 260 km/h. Currently, Hyundai sells one Kona Electric EV model in the country.
