Hyundai Mobis, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor, has introduced its E-Corner module, through which the wheels of the vehicle are rotated 90 degrees. Not only this, after rotating, the car is also able to run smoothly. Due to this feature, the vehicle can easily park even in a small space, or come out of the parking lot. Each wheel in the Hyundai Mobis e-corner module is a combination of an electric motor, braking system, suspension and steering.
Let us tell you that this corner module was first introduced at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. At that time it was a concept system, which is still in its early stages. The company has now introduced a prototype of it. Over the past three years, Hyundai Mobis has renewed the design to make it a practical product that can be applied to real vehicles. To control this technology, the company has also prepared Electric Control Unit (ECU).

How is it different from normal vehicles
Explain that the traditional axle can rotate up to a maximum of 30 degrees. Drivers generally cannot easily park in narrow lanes and in cramped spaces, making it difficult for passengers to get in and out. Whereas the E-Corner module can rotate up to 90 degrees. This feature allows the vehicle to perform unique vehicle movements. This allows the vehicle to be in crab mode or fully rotatable while standing at its place.
“Hyundai Mobis will start mass production once its reliability is established,” the company said in its statement. By 2023 the Seoul-based firm wants to assemble four E-Corner modules to manufacture a skateboard, which it aims to merge with self-driving vehicles two years later.
