Jasprit Bumrah Injury Update: The fourth and final Test match of the 4-match series between India and Australia will be played in Brisbane from 15 January. For both the teams, this Test match will prove to be decisive as the series is still 1-1.
The playing of Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah in this Test match is doubtful. Injured Bumrah, the team management will not want to take any chances keeping in mind the upcoming home Test series against England. Bumrah has a stomach strain. The problem began on the fourth day of the Sydney Test. After this he also went off the field for some time and took medical services.
There has been no official statement from BCCI on the injury of Bumrah, who played domestic cricket from Mumbai. On Tuesday, media reports said that Bumrah would not be part of Team India’s playing eleven for the fourth Test to be played in Brisbane. And the news that is coming right now is not good for the Indian team. The right-handed Pacer Bumrah is still not hundred percent fit and the Indian team has not been able to decide on his availability in the fourth Test so far.
The Telegram quoted sources as saying, “There is still three days left for the Test match to be played in Gaba. He (Bumrah) is close to achieving 50 percent fitness right now. Let’s see how he achieves this next. We would not like to take any risk keeping the home series against England next month.
Mohammed Siraj may lead a pace attack
On the current tour, Bumrah participated in all three Test matches. With Bumrah out of the last Test, Pacer Mohammad Siraj could lead the Indian pace attack with just 2 Tests experience. Apart from Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan are present in the Indian squad.
