, 30 January (Language) The first Test match of the series is to be played between India and England from 5 February. Stringent arrangements have been made to protect against the deadly corona virus and the players are constantly being tested. Meanwhile on Saturday, all-rounder Ben Stokes, fast bowler Joffra Archer and reserve opener Rory Burns attended the first practice session at Chepauk after six weeks of tight isolation.

The remaining members of the England team were also found negative in the second Corona Test. All three were not part of the Test series in Sri Lanka. Stokes and Archer were rested for workload management while Burns was off tour due to the birth of his first child. The trio reached India ahead of their teammates and practiced on the net after finishing three RT-PCR tests.

England media manager Danny Reuben said, ‘The first group of players Archer, Burns, Stokes practiced today. They will practice for two hours every day for the next three days.

“England’s second corona test has been negative,” he said. The England team will start practice from February 2. The first Test of the four-match series will be played from February 5 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
