
Maruti Suzuki has no match in the passenger car segment in Indian market. For decades, Maruti Suzuki has been known in the domestic market for its economical and best mileage cars. Maruti Alto has been the best selling car for a long time, but in the last June, WagonR, popularly known as the company’s tall boy, became the best selling car.
If we look at the sales figures, in the month of June last year, the company has sold 19,447 units of WagonR, which is 179% more than 6,972 units in the month of June last year. On the other hand, talking about Maruti Alto, 12,513 units have been sold, which was just 7,298 units in June 2020. In the month of June, a difference of about 6,934 units has been seen in the sales of these two cars.
Why is this car becoming famous?
Maruti WagonR is available in the Indian market in petrol engine as well as CNG variant. Due to the tall-boy boxy design, this car also gets better space and legroom in the cabin. As far as the engine is concerned, it comes with two different petrol engines. A 1.0 liter petrol engine (68PS / 90Nm) has been given in one of its variants. On the other hand, 1.2 liter petrol engine (83PS/113Nm) has been given in the second variant. Its CNG variant comes with a 1.0 liter engine that generates 60PS of power and 78Nm of torque. This car is equipped with 5 speed manual and automatic gearbox.

It gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, power windows, keyless entry and steering-mounted audio and calling controls. Safety has also been taken care of in Maruti Wagon R, its standard safety features include driver airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and rear parking sensors.
Price and Mileage:
Its 1.0 liter variant gives a mileage of 21.79 kmpl, 1.2 liter variant 20.52 kmpl and CNG variant gives a mileage of 32 kmpl. Its price ranges from Rs 4.80 lakh to Rs 6.33 lakh.
