South Korea’s leading automaker Kia Motor has today launched the new anniversary edition of its cheapest SUV Kia Sonet in the Indian market. The company has introduced this SUV in the Indian market on the occasion of completion of one year. This new anniversary edition is based on the mid-spec HTX variant of the SUV.
Adorned with an attractive look and strong engine capacity, the price of this SUV has been fixed between Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh.
The new special edition of the Kia Sonet comes with both petrol and diesel engines and manual/automatic gearboxes. Compared to the regular model, the company has included some special features in it, which makes it even better.
What’s special about the new anniversary edition of Kia Sonet:
The company has made some cosmetic changes in this SUV, in which skid plates have been given at the front and rear. Along with the doors and wheel center cap, tangerine accents have been given on the bumpers. This anniversary edition gets a new design grille and a badge as an insignia.
Talking about the features, it has been given auto LED headlamps, single pan sunroof, keyless entry, remote engine start, 8.0 touchscreen infotainment, which can be connected to Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Other features include driving modes, automatic climate control, cruise control, etc. However, compared to the top specs, it does not have Bose sound system, connected car technology and air purifier etc.
As for the safety features, it has been given Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Rear Parking Sensors, Camera, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, Dual Airbags etc.
Engine Capacity:
The company has introduced the Sonet Anniversary Edition with two engine options, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 120hp power and 172Nm torque. At the same time, the 1.5 liter diesel engine generates 100hp power and 240Nm torque. The turbo petrol engine comes mated to a 6 speed iMT and 7 speed dual clutch transmission gearbox. At the same time, the diesel engine comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
