All automakers have released their sales figures in July. Meanwhile, in July 2021, Kia India has achieved annual (YoY) growth of 76 per cent. The company has sold 15,016 vehicles last month. The company also said that in the calendar year 2021, the company has also crossed the one lakh car sales mark. Sonnet and Celtos

The biggest contributor to the company’s total sales in July has been the sub-compact SUV Kia Sonet. Last month, 7,675 units of the car were sold. Similarly, the company’s mid-size SUV Kia Seltos also got a good response from the customers. Kia Seltos has sold 6,983 units in July. At the same time, 358 units of Kia Carnival MPV have been purchased.

New MPV Coming

This South Korean car company has already told that Kia India will launch its fourth car in the country in early 2022. It could be a compact MPV based on the Seltos platform. Codenamed Kia KY, the car will compete with the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo and upcoming compact MPVs from Hyundai and MG. It is likely to have inspired design, features and engine from the Kia Seltos. That is, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.4L Turbo GDI petrol and 1.5L Turbo CRDi diesel engine options can be found in the car.

Kia’s compact MPV is expected to come with 6- and 7-seat layouts. Its length will be about 4.5 meters. Thus, it will be 190 mm longer than the Seltos. The 3-raw MPV will be produced in India at the company’s Anantapur plant. The company can also export it to other Asian markets including Indonesia. The company plans to sell 50,000 units of this car annually.
