
The Indian market is witnessing great growth in the demand for electric vehicles, especially in the two-wheeler segment, with customers taking more interest. Recently, eBikeGo launched its new stylish electric scooter Rugged in the domestic market. Adorned with an attractive look and strong battery pack, this bike has been introduced in two variants G1 and G1 +. This scooter has created a buzz as soon as it comes in the market and in the last two months the company has registered booking of more than 1 lakh units of it.
eBikeGo says the paid booking amount is around ₹1,000 crore. The company is engaged in expanding its network across the country, so that it can reach more and more people. Recently, the company has opened 22 new dealerships, however, the mast franchises in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar have been closed.
The company expects that the demand for this electric scooter will increase further in the festive season, due to which there will be a strong increase in bookings. Irfan Khan, Founder and CEO of the company said, “It is India’s most eco-friendly, intelligent and sustainable electric moto-scooter that will change the course of electric mobility in the country.” The company aims to book 50,000 units next month.
How is the Rugged Scooter:
The price of the Rugged G1 model has been fixed at Rs 79,999 and the G1+ variant at Rs 89,999. These prices include FAMEII subsidy. In this, the company has given a battery pack of 2 kWh capacity, which can also be replaced. eBikeGo claims that the battery can be charged in 4 hours and has a range of around 160 kms. It uses a 3kW power motor that helps the electric scooter hit a top speed of 70 kmph.
Just 25 paise cost:
The company claims that the running cost of this electric scooter is very low, and it will cost only 25 paise per kilometer to run it. That is, in 1 rupee you can travel 4 km and in 100 rupees you can travel up to 400 km. The official booking of this bike has also started, for this, interested customers will have to deposit only Rs 499 as booking amount. The company will start its delivery from November 21.
It has two driving modes, which include Eco and Power mode. The company claims that it gives a driving range of 160 km in Eco mode and up to 135 km in Power mode. It takes just 1 minute to replace its swappable battery. It has disc brakes with Combined Braking System (CBS).
