Jaipur . Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Walking for just 30 minutes every day enhances cardiovascular fitness, strengthens bones, burns excess body fat, increases muscle strength and stamina. Walking also reduces the risk of conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and cancer. Founder of Abdominal Cancer Trust, Dr. Sandeep Jain today informed that Abdominal Cancer Day is celebrated all over the world on 19th May. This year it is being celebrated as Abdominal Cancer Month in which various activities will be organized under the aegis of ‘Abdominal Cancer Trust’ and IIEMR. A Walking Fest is being organized on 14-15 May, 2022 to reach out to the general public about the symptoms, treatment and care methods of this cancer with the theme ‘Awareness is Power’.
The walking fest will begin on 14th May with the Jaipur Super Walker Awards to honor those who have proved to be an inspiration or motivator to keep others healthy. Director, IIMR, Mukesh Mishra further informed that the admissions/nominations of your loved ones, near and dear ones are being invited for the awards. In the Walking Fest, the walk will start from Jalebi Chowk in Jaipur on May 15 and return via Heritage Route, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Aatish Market, Hawa Mahal. Participation in the walk is free but registration is required. You can also come with your family/group. To reach awareness, it is not necessary that you should walk if you are in Jaipur, but you can walk by staying in any corner of the world.
