What’s in the video?
The video shows an older generation Mahindra Thar walking on Gulmarg road amid heavy snowfall. There is also a turn in front, where some vehicles are already parked. As Thar tried to take a turn at a slightly higher speed, it slipped on the ice and fell down. Tire marks on the road indicate that the car had lost control. Sharing this video on Twitter, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also advised to drive carefully in snowfall.
Driving in winter in Kashmir can be an absolute nightmare. I hope the occupants of this jeep all got out in time. It’s shocking how flimsy the barriers that have been installed are. Source of video – a WhatsApp forward. This is the Gulmarg Road earlier today. pic.twitter.com/ukxRj7DpZs

In the guidelines issued by the police, several tips have been given for a safe drive on snow. It says not to panic in case the vehicle slips. Instead, the driver should try to control the slippage by applying the brakes slowly to bring the vehicle to a halt. When driving on snow or ice, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, drive slow and steady, stay in the same lane without overtaking others and do not accelerate in any slippery area.
