
Mahindra’s off-road SUV Mahindra Thar’s second generation model is getting a lot of love from customers in India. However, the design of this car has become a problem for the company in Australia. Actually, the company was preparing to sell this car in Australia, on which the popular car company Jeep has raised legal questions. Jeep has claimed in court that Mahindra’s Thar design is inspired by the Jeep Wrangler car.

Let me tell you that the Jeep Wrangler is also an off-road SUV, which is already being sold in Australia. So when Jeep came to know about Mahindra’s plan to launch Thar here, Jeep-owned brand Stellantis moved the court. Stellantis filed a complaint against Mahindra in the Federal Court of Australia, stating that Mahindra Thar’s design resembles that of its Wrangler SUV. It has also demanded that Thar not be allowed to launch in Australia.

There was a problem in the American market as well
Explain that this is not the first time that Jeep and Mahindra are face to face. Earlier, Mahindra had decided to sell its Roxor car in the US, even then the two sides were embroiled in legal disputes. Let us tell you that Roxor, it was a first generation Thar based Offroad car. However, for the sale of this car in the US, the Indian carmaker had to make some design changes to the SUV.

Waiting period reached for 1 year
Let us know that if the report came last month, the waiting period of this SUV has reached almost 1 year in some cities of India. Explain that this car comes in two engine options. It has a 2.0-liter petrol engine and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 150 PS of power and the diesel engine 130 PS of power. These engines come with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The price of this SUV ranges between Rs 12.10 lakh and Rs 14.15 lakh.
