Martyrs Day or Shaheed Diwas is celebrated every year on 30 January and 23 March in our country. Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary on 30 January is remembered as Martyr’s Day. While Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged on 23 March 1931, so Martyr’s Day is also celebrated on 23 March in memory of those immortal heroes. The film Shaheed was released in 1965, directed by SR Sharma. The film was based on the life of Bhagat Singh, with Manoj Kumar in the lead character. The story of this film was written by Batukeshwar Dutt. In the list of the 13th National Film Award, the film won the award for Best Film in Hindi as well as the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration.
Gandhi
In the film Gandhi, released in 1982, Ben Kingsley played the main character of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Ben’s amazing performance in the film won everyone’s heart. Along with Ben, the film had Rohini Hattangadi, Roshan Seth, Pradeep Kumar, Saeed Jaffrey, Edward Fox, Shriram Lagoo, Dilip Tahil, Pankaj Kapoor, Supriya Pathak and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles. The film directed by Richard Attenborough has shown the life of Mahatma Gandhi from becoming a barrister to his assassination. The film also received eight other Academy Awards along with the Academy Award for Best Film. Along with the Academy Awards, the film also received the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Border
It should be about patriotism and martyrdom and not to mention the film border directed by JP Dutta, it is not possible. The film Border, released in 1997, is based on a real incident of war fought between India and Pakistan in the year 1971. The film featured strong performances by actors including Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Rakhi, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee. The dialogues, including the film’s songs, are still super hit.
The legend of bhagat singh
The film ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’, released in 2002, was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. In this film, Ajay Devgan as Bhagat Singh, Sushant Singh as Sukhdev and D. Santosh as Rajguru were played. The songs of the film are still liked today. Let me tell you that ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ won the National Film Award in the Best Feature Film category.
