After the introduction of the new BS6 emission standard in the country last year, it was believed that the demand for diesel engine vehicles would be reduced. But this did not happen and there was no decrease in the demand for diesel cars. Perhaps this is why Maruti Suzuki is gearing up once again with the new diesel engine. Currently, companies like Kia and Hyundai are selling a lot of diesel variants of some of their famous models like Seltos, Creta and Venue.
In such a situation, it is becoming necessary for the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, to also offer a diesel engine option in its vehicles. Because of the non-availability of diesel engine variants, its impact is also seen on the company’s sales. Currently, the company’s famous cars Ertiga and Ciaz are using a 1.5-liter petrol engine that generates 104bhp power and 138Nm torque.
