Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has unveiled India’s first CNG-powered tractor today i.e. on Friday. This is a diesel tractor that has been converted to CNG. This is the first tractor of its kind in the country. The government believes that the use of this new tractor will help the farmers of the country to become self-sufficient.
Actually, this tractor belongs to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari which has been converted into CNG. While presenting this tractor to the country today, Nitin Gadkari told the media that, this tractor will help farmers to become self-reliant. The government claims that the cost of using this tractor can be reduced by nearly 55 percent.
Gadkari said that a farmer spends about 3.5 lakh rupees every year for the use of tractor in the country. At the same time, a tractor used only for farming costs up to 2.5 lakh rupees per year. It is being claimed that by using this tractor, the farmer can save up to Rs 1.5 lakh per year.

Nitin Gadkari said that the tractor he bought for the first time in 2012 has been jointly converted into CNG by Nagpur-based company Ravamat Techno Solutions and Tomasetto Achil India. This tractor has also been tested for nearly 6 months, which was awarded the registration certificate by the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan.
Actually, a CNG kit has been used in this tractor. The government plans to set up retro fitment centers in every district of the country where these CNG kits will be available. As far as the price of this tractor is concerned, no information has been shared about it yet. Reports have stated that its price can be revealed within the next 18 months.
