
The month of August has been very exciting for the auto sector. While more than one new model has entered the market, there is a huge reshuffle in the sales chart as well. Maruti Dzire, the leader of the compact sedan segment, has been crowned the best selling car and Honda Amaze became the best-selling sedan car in the month of August.
In August itself, Honda launched a new facelift model of this affordable sedan car. The car has already been very popular due to its very attractive looks and great mileage, but one of its updated models has rapidly attracted the customers. The company has made some special changes in this new sedan car, which make it much better than the previous model. Despite these changes, there has been a very slight increase in the price of the car. The starting price of this car has been fixed at just Rs 6.32 lakh.
However, if we look at the car sales figures, Honda has sold a total of 6,591 units of the Amaze sedan in the month of August, which is 79% more than just 3,684 units in the month of August last year. At the same time, the sales of Maruti’s best selling compact sedan Dzire have seen a decline of 58%. Maruti has sold a total of 5,714 units of Dzire in the month of August last year as against 13,629 units in the month of August last year.
Honda Amaze has become the best selling compact sedan car in the month of August, beating Maruti Dzire in sales. Both these cars are very popular in their segment. While Honda Amaze comes with both petrol and diesel engine options while Maruti Dzire comes with only petrol engine, the company is preparing to launch its CNG variant in the market soon. Honda Amaze:
The petrol variant of the new Honda Amaze is powered by a 1.2 liter engine that generates 88 hp power and 110 Nm torque. Whereas in the diesel variant, the company has given a 1.5 liter engine, whose CVT transmission trim generates 80 hp power and 160 Nm torque and manual generates 100 hp power and 200 Nm torque. Its petrol model gives a mileage of 18 km and diesel model up to 24 kmpl.
It now gets LED daytime running lamps and LED front fog lamps along with automatic LED projector headlamps. The new chrome door handles and 15-inch diamond cut, dual-tone alloy wheels make it even more attractive. Apart from this, the top-spec VX trim also gets exclusive fabric seats and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be connected to Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The car is available in a total of five colours, including the new Meteoric Gray colour.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire:
Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the updated VXi variant of the Dzire in the market. The company has used a 1.2 liter capacity dual jet petrol engine in this car, which generates 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. It has a 5 speed gearbox. In its top variants, the company has given Smart Play Studio, which can be connected to Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Apart from this, features like Multi Info TFT Display, Cruise Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Hold Assist have also been provided.
On the other hand, in the second VXI variant, the company has added manual air condition, steering mounted audio controls, electrically adjusted wing mirrors, power steering wheel, power windows, dual front airbags, anti lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), central locking, Features like seat belt warning, rear parking sensor and engine immobilizer have been given. The company claims that this car gives a mileage of up to 24 kmpl.
