
Soon you will not need to give driving test at RTO to get driving license. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification of the new rule. Under this, candidates who have successfully trained at recognized driving centers will not have to take the driving license test again while obtaining DL, they will be exempted from this. However, you will have to pass a test after completing training at the center, which will be electronically recorded for audit.
Rules will be applicable from July 1
The ministry has notified mandatory rules for recognized driving training centres. These rules will come into effect from July 1, 2021. Adequate training and information will be provided to the candidates enrolling at these centres. Candidates who successfully clear the examination to be held at these centers will not be required to take the driving test for driving license at the Regional Transport Office (RTO).

Will have to be renewed after 5 years
The ministry’s statement said that after taking training in driving from such recognized driving centers, it will help drivers to get driving license. According to the notification, the recognition granted by the recognized centers will remain in force for five years and can be renewed. The duration of the Light Motor Vehicle Driver Driving course will be a maximum of 29 hours over four weeks.
The course will be divided into two categories, theory and practice. The duration of the course for medium and heavy motor vehicles will be 38 hours over six weeks. During this, drivers will also be taught important things about better behavior and discipline with other drivers on the road.
