Significantly, the award, instituted by Anil Mishra in 2012, is considered as the highest cinema honor in the country and is held in the presence of the governor, stars, representatives, industrialists, politicians and media. Let it be said that this is the only independent award ceremony in India which celebrates the legacy of late Dada Saheb Phalke, who is considered the father of Indian cinema.
