Tata Motors is going to launch its micro SUV Tata Punch on 18 October in the Indian market. This will be the company’s smallest SUV. The company has already introduced its look and features. 1. Cheapest SUV in the segment?
Tata Punch can be an affordable SUV. It will be for such buyers who want the features and looks of an SUV in a low budget. It is being claimed in many media reports that the price of the SUV can be between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, the Tata Punch is going to compete with vehicles like Maruti Ignis, Mahindra KUV100, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

It is the safest car in the country. It has got a 5 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Not only this, it has left behind all other vehicles in India in total points. It scored 16.45 points out of 17 in the adult safety rating. Similarly, in terms of child safety, this SUV has scored 40.89 points out of 49. In this, the 1.2 liter Revotron petrol engine has been given the same as the Tata Altroz. It generates 86PS of power and 113Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual and 5 speed AMT gearbox. The company claims that it accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in 6.5 seconds and takes about 16 seconds to reach 100 kmph.
