Czech Republic’s leading automaker Skoda is planning to add a new sedan car to its vehicle line-up to give the business a new boom in the Indian market. If you are thinking that the new car will be the next generation of Rapid’s famous car, then this is not the case at all. Yes, the company is going to introduce a new model in the market, which will compete with segment leader Honda City.
According to the information, Zac Hollis, sales, service and marketing director of Skoda India has confirmed this. Jack told the media that the company will not launch the next generation model of its Rapid sedan in the market. Rather the company is going to introduce an all new sedan car and this sedan car will be big.

Let us know that this upcoming new sedan car from Skoda will be produced on the MQB AO IN platform, and it will be introduced in the market by the end of next year. It is also believed that the company will sell this sedan car with the current model, as Honda is doing. Currently, Honda is also selling the fourth generation model in the market with its fifth generation Honda City. However, there is a difference in the size of these two cars.
According to media reports, Skoda is using the style of the Vision IN concept in its new sedan car. This design language has recently been launched specifically for the Indian market. Actually, it will be a notchback styling car that will compete with cars like Honda City, Verna and Ciaz in the market. The company will use the arrow shape headlamps in this car with a hexagonal radiator grille.
How will the engine: It is being told that the company can use Volkswagen Group’s TSI petrol engine in this new sedan car. The car can be offered with two engine options, including a 1.0-liter engine with 3 cylinders and a 1.5-liter engine with 4 cylinders. The 1.0-liter engine will generate 108bhp of power and 175Nm of torque, while the 1.5-liter engine generates 147bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. In a small engine, the company can use a 6-speed manual and torque converter gearbox. At the same time, 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox will be used in the bigger engine.
