SydneyAustralia’s top batsman revealed that he was having a very fast turnaround (vertigo) before the second ODI against India and did not feel sure of playing in the match in which he played a brilliant century. Smith’s 104 off 64 balls made Australia score a mammoth 389 for four in the second ODI on Sunday and beat India by 51 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series. The former captain said that he ‘did not feel good at the crease for a while’. Smith, after receiving his second consecutive Man of the Match award, told Cricket.com, ‘I didn’t know that I would play today. I was feeling very dizzy in the morning and I was having a lot of trouble. ‘ Smith said the team’s doctor, Leg Golding, relieved him by treating him, for which he made several movements for his head to treat vertigo (benign paroxysmal positive vertigo – BPPV). BPPV is caused by problems inside the ear. He said, ‘The doctor I think did the process of moving my head six times in the morning. Which led to a slight improvement. Glad I could play another good innings and help the team.
