Left-arm fast bowler T. Natarajan has been included in the Indian team in the series against Australia. Natarajan will replace Umesh Yadav, who was ruled out of the series due to injury. Yadav exited the series on the third day of the Border-Gavaskar series due to an injury to the calf.
The selection committee on Friday included T. Natarajan as a replacement for Yadav. Before the Boxing Day Test match, Shardul Thakur was included in the squad in place of Mohammed Shami. Shami suffered a wrist injury while batting in the first Test. Both Shami and Yadav will go to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for rehab from injury. Apart from this, Rohit Sharma has completed Quarantine and is in Melbourne with the Indian cricket team.
