Kia India has reached another milestone in terms of sales in the Indian market. The company has sold more than 3 lakh vehicles in India. The company claims that Kia has made a record of selling 3 lakh cars in the shortest time. Kia entered India two years ago. In the first one year, Kia sold 1 lakh vehicles, while in the next one year it sold 2 lakh cars. In this way, in two years, the company has sold a total of more than 3 lakh cars.

SUV increased sales speed
Kia had knocked in the Indian market with the Seltos SUV. It has been the best selling car of the company. The special thing is that the 3,00,000th car also remained Kia Seltos. This car alone accounted for 66 percent of the company’s total sales. The Kia Sonet compact SUV was at number two, which captured 32 per cent of the sales. While 7,310 units of Kia Carnival have been sold so far.

Kia sold 1 lakh vehicles in 6 months
During the car sales results in July 2021, the company had told that Kia had sold more than 1 lakh vehicles in the last 6 months. Along with this, in July alone, the company has sold 15,016 vehicles. In this way, in July 2021, Kia India achieved annual (YoY) growth of 76 percent. The biggest contributor to the company’s total sales in July was the sub-compact SUV Kia Sonet, which sold a total of 7,675 units.

New MPV Coming
The company is now working on its fourth product, which could be a compact MPV. Its launch will be done in early 2022. Codenamed Kia KY, the car will compete with the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo and upcoming compact MPVs from Hyundai and MG. It is likely to have inspired design, features and engine from the Kia Seltos.
