There is great news for offroading lovers. The country’s leading vehicle manufacturer Force Motors has today unveiled the next generation model of its famous SUV Force Gurkha in the domestic market. The company has decorated the new Gurkha with updated design as well as new technology and features. After coming in the market, this SUV will mainly compete with Mahindra Thar, it is reported that it can be launched in the market on the occasion of Diwali.
The new Gurkha comes with 4×4 high and 4×4 low levers in the central console to boost off-roading capability. Force Motors claims that it is the only SUV in its segment to get mechanically differential lock on both the axles. The company had showcased this SUV for the first time at the last Auto Expo.
As far as the size is concerned, its length is 4,116 mm, width is 1,812 mm and height is 2,075 mm. It has a wheelbase of 2,400mm. Which helps in providing better cabin space inside the SUV. It gets black-clad bumpers at the front and rear along with large flared wheel arches which also gets 16-inch steel wheels, blacked out side rear view mirrors (ORVM’s) and snorkel, blacked out roof rails.
The company says that, “The snorkel provided in this SUV ensures fresh air combustion along with giving it the facility to land even in deep water.” In this, the company has given a diesel engine of 2.6 liters capacity, which generates 91PS of power and 250Nm of torque. This engine is equipped with 5 speed manual transmission and four wheel drive system.
In terms of safety, the new Gurkha comes with features like dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), lane-change indicator, tire pressure monitoring system. It is believed that it can be launched for sale in the month of October. Although it is difficult to say anything about its price before the launch, but experts believe that it can be offered for Rs 10 to 12 lakhs.
