Well, there aren’t many options for electric cars available in the market right now, but the CNG segment offers a wider range to the customers. At the same time, automakers are also engaged in expanding their CNG vehicle portfolio in the coming time.
From the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki to Tata Motors, all these companies are soon going to introduce new CNG variants of their famous models in the market. These include two Maruti cars and one Tata car, so let’s know about those CNG cars coming in the market –
1)- Maruti Celerio: Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the next generation model of its famous hatchback car Celerio. The biggest change in this car will be seen that, the company is preparing the new Celerio on the HEARTECT platform. The new Celerio will be bigger in size, giving you more cabin space inside the car. In this car, the company can offer a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be connected to Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Its current model also comes with a CNG variant, which gives a mileage of up to 31 km/kg.
2)- Maruti Dzire CNG: The country’s best selling compact sedan car DZire is also going to be introduced in a new CNG avatar. Recently this car has been spotted during testing. At present, this car is only available in the market with a petrol engine, but the company will use its traditional S-CNG kit in this too. Although no information has been received about it yet, how much mileage will this car give. This car can be launched on the occasion of the festive season.
3)- Tata Tiago CNG: Tata Motors is preparing CNG variants of its entry-level cars, which are expected to be launched later this year. The manufacturer has started testing the CNG powered Tiago and Tigor. Recently, the Tiago has been spotted on the streets of Pune for testing, with the sticker ‘On Test by ARAI’ put on it. In this, the company can use the 1.2 liter capacity Revotron petrol engine and it can be launched on the occasion of Diwali.
