Petrol and diesel prices are increasing continuously. In such a situation, people are increasingly turning towards other fuel options. Although electric vehicles are also being seen as an option, but still CNG is the most popular in this matter. In such a situation, the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is engaged in rapidly strengthening its CNG vehicle portfolio. Now the company is going to include two new cars in this segment.
According to the latest media reports, Maruti Suzuki is working on CNG variants of its Swift and best selling compact sedan car Dzire. Recently, these cars have also been spotted during testing on different occasions. These cars are being tested with CNG kit. It is being told that these cars will be launched for sale soon.
At present, 6 cars are available for sale in the company’s CNG portfolio. These include Alto, S-Presso, Ertiga, Celerio, WagonR and Van Eco. With these two cars, there will be a total of 8 cars, which will be the highest in terms of CNG vehicle portfolio of any company in the Indian market. Although Hyundai is also involved in this race of CNG, but it is far away from Maruti.
Let us tell you that both these cars of Maruti come with 1.2 liter dual-jet petrol engine that generates 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox. It is believed that the company can offer their CNG variants only with manual transmission.
What will be the price:
However, before the launch of these cars, it is difficult to say anything about their price. But the CNG variants of Swift and DZire can cost between Rs 90,000 to Rs 1 lakh more than the petrol variants. The current Maruti Swift price ranges from Rs 5.81 lakh to Rs 8.42 lakh, while the price of the sedan DZire ranges from Rs 5.98 lakh to Rs 9.02 lakh. Except for Ertiga, most of the company’s CNG models give mileage of 30 to 32 km/kg. In such a situation, it is expected that the mileage of the Dzire will also be around this.
