
The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is preparing to update its vehicle portfolio in the domestic market. This year, on the occasion of the festive season, the company is going to launch the next generation model of its famous hatchback car Maruti Celerio. Recently, this car has also been spotted during testing on many different occasions.
Now a production ready model of this car has been spotted, which is all set for launch. The company has made many major changes in this car which make it different from the current model. The current model is priced between Rs 4.65 lakh to Rs 6.00 lakh. Its petrol variant gives a mileage of 21 km and CNG variant up to 30 km. Due to the updates made in the next generation model, its price may be slightly higher than the current model.
How is the new Maruti Celerio:
Based on the spy shots, it can be said that the company has given slim front grilles with rounded triangular headlamps in this car. The front has a black cladding that covers the fog lamps as well as the air dam. Talking about the side profile, new door handles have also been included in it along with blacked out alloy wheels. At the rear, a new design taillamp and bumper have been given.
However, pictures of the interior of this car have not been revealed yet. But it is believed that the company will also provide new upholstery seats along with a redesigned dashboard. It can be given a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity support), automatic climate control, power windows, power out side rear view mirrors (ORVM’s).
Maruti Suzuki will also wait for better safety in this car. It will get features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Rear Parking Camera (in the top model), Dual Front Airbags, Rear Parking Sensors, Speed Alert System, Seat Belt Pretensioner etc.
According to the information, the company will not make any changes in the engine of this car. This car will be available with two petrol engine options. One variant will be given a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which generates 68 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the second variant will come with a 1.2 liter petrol engine, which generates 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
It is reported that the company can launch the next generation Maruti Celerio on the occasion of Diwali this year. This car will also be offered in CNG variants along with petrol. In the last few months, there has been a huge increase in the demand for this car, especially in commercial cab services like this car people are very much liked.
