Bharat Arun, the bowling coach of the Indian cricket team, believes that on the strength of his fearless nature and courage, India has achieved historic success by defeating Australia 2–1 in the four-match Test series. Arun says that playing the Brisbane Test with five bowlers was a bold decision as it risked losing the match as well as the series but the team management took this risk and today the result is in front of everyone.
Arun says that giving Washington Sundar a chance to debut was a big risk as Sundar had not played a first-class match for three years. Sundar, however, played a key role in the team’s victory by making a spectacular performance, making his selection meaningful.
Virat Kohli again on Gautam Gambhir’s target, asked- How are you captaining for 8 years without trophy?
Arun said, “There was a discussion about feeding an extra batsman in the last Test match but later we thought it would be a negative move and that’s why we decided to play with five bowlers.” We thoughtfully took the risk, which worked and today the result is in front of everyone.
According to Arun, towards achieving success, the Indian team no longer takes the risk and despite playing with inexperienced bowlers in Brisbane, giving five bowlers a chance was a big decision. Arun said, ‘If we have to be successful, then there will be no panic due to failure. She will go together We are not afraid of losing. We will lose some matches and with every defeat we will learn something. Defeat is part of the game and a good player learns from defeat and wins. We were following the same formula.
